An Extended Weekend with Mestre Galo!! Thursday, February 25 through Sunday, February 28, 2010.

Mestre Galo, founder and director of Canto do Galo (UCA) in Denver, is coming back to Knoxville to lead a host of capoeira workshops and rodas over the extended weekend!!

Mestre Galo will be leading a couple Beginners’ Workshops ($15 each or $20 for both) for people who are entirely new to capoeira. This is a special opportunity to learn the basics from a veritable Master of capoeira!!

To participate in the entire weekend costs $100. Capoeiristas outside of Knoxville who would like to participate during individual days or workshops are eagerly invited to contact us. We want share this rare occasion with our neighboring brothers and sisters! Housing (with very cool people) is available, just contact us.

Tentative Schedule of Events

The following events will be lead by Mestre Galo and Contra-mestre Avestruz. Unless otherwise noted, all events will be held in the Emporium Annex Studio (see these directions).

3:30 - 6:30 - Capoeira Workshop and Roda

5 - 6:30 - Beginners’ Capoeira Workshop and Roda ($15)

9 - 11 - Open Capoeira Roda @ URBhana (on Gay St. across from the Emporium)

Saturday, 27th

11 - 1 - Capoeira Workshop

3 - 7 - Capoeira Workshop

5 - 7 - Beginners’ Capoeira Workshop ($15)

Sunday, 28th
